On March 6th-8th Proteach had its first management board meeting. The team gathered for three intensive days of work devoted to the current preparation of the MITs (multi-player induction teams) by the 6 Israeli HEIs (higher education institutions) participating in the project. The partners shared their views regarding the characteristics that distinguish the MIT model from the existing Incubators model in Israel. Issues related to the involvement of school authorities, mentors and policy makers were discussed as well. The consortium dealt also with the compliance of the MIT model with existing teacher professional development models, and tackled moral issues as a vehicle for expanding professional identity issues in the MIT framework. The European partners shared their experiences with different models of teacher training.
The team made some preparations for the next meeting in Tallinn, Estonia, scheduled for June 5th-9th this year. This meeting will be devoted to 4 days of workshop dealing with the role of mentors in school and within the MIT, and one day of PMB.
